Questions and Answers
Can anyone find the music videos with the best like/dislike ratios (I mean the smallest dislike bar against the blue bar below the video on YouTube).
Calculate the number of likes divided by the number of dislikes to get a number, and the bigger the number, the smaller the dislike portion.
Rules:
The video must contain an actual song, but it doesn't have to be an official music video, audio or lyric stream.
It must have at least 1 million views and at least a month (30 days) old, meaning published to YouTube 30 days ago.
Well done to anyone who finds a video with 1 million views and NO dislikes!
Just Updated
This might be an obvious question, but when a song reaches its peak after several weeks (or even years) in the chart, we don't update each week it's been in the chart, do we? I mean that the peak column on each chart week is correct for up to that week?
What are your estimates on the number of artist stats pages we currently have, which is 1064 so far. Does anyone know a source for the number of lead artists which have charted on the top 200, or even for including featuring artists?
How long do you guys think you will be editing the UK Charts Archive Wiki for, on a regular basis, because we really only have 3 regular editors, and if any one of us leaves, it will be a lot more difficult for those still editing. I plan to stay as a regular editor AT LEAST until all chart weeks are up to date and I have got my stats complete, but I will still be coming back here often to check how the wiki is doing.
AAHHHHH! Why isn't the bullet points on the Home page showing up properly????
I think NicholasBBQ32 would know about this, but in iTunes sometimes you can only buy a single with the album, for example, Look Right Through by Storm Queen, you can only buy the album, so singles like Hey Brother which charted when #TRUE was released, was because people clicked to buy the single but could only buy the album?
I don't know if you guys have noticed, but on Chart Archive and theofficialcharts.com you get a redirect to an existing chart if you mistype the chart week in the url. Since this is a wiki, we could easily do this also, but it would take quite a while to create the redirect pages. Do you think it would be a good idea in the future (after we have all the charts put on)?
I think most would agree that the background needs some to it, but I am not too sure how to get it to look how I want, like on the community wiki and the Battle Bears wiki (what I mean is the sides of the pages only hold viewable content). Any ideas?
What chart performance theories do you guys have? I mean the reasons why particular songs would debut at high positions, fall quickly, keep re-entering etc. Here are some of my theories:
- X Factor finalists, debut usually at #1 or in top 10.
- Live performances, re-entering songs in the top 100.
- Album releases, causing early debuts to occur.
- Music video promotions (e.g. Gangnam Style)
- Singles only appearing in 101-200 due to lack of promotion.
- Radio plays
- Big falls - X Factor and cover performances.
Is the single mentioned above climb from 79 to 2 on the Chart Update, or is the single new at number 2? This has happened before with I Love It and Wake Me Up, and Wikipedia hasn't been much help!
I can't remember who edited the UK Chart History page to put "In April 1991 the charts were reduced from 100 to 75 due to Record Mirror's publication being discontinued." Can you get the information for when it was remade to a top 100?
I think we should not have to keep updating featuring artists pages with data, for example, for Get Lucky we shouldn't have to keep updating Pharrell Williams : Stats for every week. What I think will be good is to put the summary of the single on the artist stats page (peak and weeks) and leave it at that (you can click on the lead artist's stats page to see the performance).
Why is the sidebar playing up? You can only fit about 3 things on it!
Out of my current 630 songs I have songs peaking from every top 40 position except 38. Anyone know of a song peaking at 38?
Pitbull - Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor)
When you put the Peaks and Weeks for singles, like on the chart weeks, do we have to update each of those weeks when the singles/albums spend another week on the chart or peak higher than it did on that week, or are the peaks and weeks just up to that week?
We need to be able to edit the home page, it can't be only you having access to it!
Taylor jago 16.06, I noticed on some of the Chart Update pages you have included positions for outside the top 40. Where did you get them from? Example on UK Singles Chart Update (22/05/2013).
